After some thought I decided to buy a Oneida Screaming Eagle for myself, the first problem is to find one that is left hand. I found mine on eBay and I can tell you it wasn't cheap, it cost me almost an arm and a leg but, if that's the bow I want, that's what I wad to do it. Maybe I could have waited and see if anything "cheaper" would show up but I decided to "hit the iron while is hot". For all the research I did an old Oneida Screaming Eagle will sell from around $200-$400, mine being a left hand was closer to $400 than from $200. It is amazing that those bows still cost this much after so much time.
So, without further delay, this is the Oneida I bought:

The patent
Today I thought that would be nice to see if I could find the patents for the Oneida bows, after some time trying to figure out how to properly search I found not one but several patents application, dating back all the way to 1976 (at least 11 years before my bow came to be):
After finding this one I found several others, related to this one:
U.S. Patent Documents
It was interesting to see the advancements and how the timing wheel evolved over time.

The history
A long time ago I gave to a friend a Oneida Screaming Eagle bow, I would love to have kept it but I am a "lefty" and the bow were a right hand bow. It is so hard to find left handed bow, even today.
The Oneida Screaming Eagle bow is a piece of art, designed by NASA engineers, made to last (mine is from 1987, more about that to come) and it was ahead of its time.
Unfortunately I couldn't find much of a proper history on the Internet, the company went bankrupt and The new company kinda of follow the design but didn't embrace history that much.
I promise I will add something here as I gather online.
This is only the beginning my my journey with the Oneida Screaming Eagle.
cheers
